ABOUT US
As Mansfield Road Fire Station, our building used to serve the local community. As The Station Gym we aim to do the same - serving our gym community and serving those in the local area too! Our journey to opening the gym has proven that we're stronger together, something we strongly believe in when helping you on your journey in the gym.
Mansfield Road Fire Station
From 1963 until 2015 Mansfield Road Fire Station served the local area. The building was well known to locals with many people having memories visiting or working there, but was decommissioned when new fire stations were built at Parkway and Birley Moor.
Abandoned & Derelict
After the fire station closed in 2015, the building was left to become derelict. By the end of 2020 when we first went to look at it, The Station was a shell.
By the middle of 2021 we were able to start internal work for the old fire station to become a gym!
Rebuilding The Station
There was plenty to do once work started in 2021 before we were able to open in 2023 but we were able to keep plenty of features that show the history of the building.
The original engine room doors are still in the main gym hall as well as the pole from first to ground floor. See if you can spot them when you're in the gym!
The Station Gym Opens
In January 2023 we opened our doors to welcome our first customers as The Station Gym!
Our new facility includes our roots from Titanium Strength Gym with strength kit downstairs and our start of the art Matrix kit upstairs alongside two studios for classes and outside space for functional and strongman training.
